About

Coming Soon to Wilmington’s “Creative Corridor”
River’s Edge Art Supply aims to be a resource for artists of all ages and backgrounds, from aspiring amateurs to full-time professionals. We will offer a wide range of supplies, from oil paints to markers to sculpting tools. And the shop will be more than just a store, it will be a community for local artists. With a rotating gallery, artist studios, and workshop space, the store will be a place for creatives to meet, learn, teach, and share work.

River’s Edge Art Supplies is founded on the idea that art is for everyone, so we are thrilled to share our passion with our community and beyond. With every purchase, you will support a woman-owned local small business and a flourishing arts community.

Why We're Here
When Sara, founder, moved to Wilmington, she planned on re-opening 3Dot Art Gallery that she owned and ran in Alameda, CA for nearly 10 years. When she realized the nearest specialized art store was more than 100 miles away, her plans changed. Knowing how many artists reside in the area, this realization planted a desire to fill a clear need in Wilmington. Along with her own contributions, Sara is currently seeking funding to open the store and is in talks with the owners of a space near downtown to rent. She is aiming for a soft opening in early fall.

Founder and Gallery Director
Sara Edge
Sara moved to Wilmington from California with her husband, rescue pup, and three kitties. Since arriving, we’ve made a wonderful network of friends and adopted a new rescue pup addition to the family! Sara has a background in environmental science and is a self-taught artist and life-long creative. Her art explores the interconnectedness between humanity and the natural world—not just in its beauty and mystery, but also in its tension, fragility, and resilience. Sara’s art aims to invite viewers into a space of curiosity and connection—where science, wonder, and creativity collide. Sara is also passionate about helping others find their creative voice and is eager to connect the various art communities in the area.

Sara has served on the board of ArtPush, a nonprofit committed to increasing access to the arts in underserved communities. While in California, she co-owned and curated 3Dot Art Gallery and participated in local arts advocacy as a member of the 2nd Friday Art Walk committee.

Co-owner and Gallery Supervisor
Dave Sylvester
Dave is an illustrator, character designer, and multimedia artist who’s been drawing since the day a pencil was within grasp. By observing the world around him, he creates quirky, whimsical creatures and imaginative visual storytelling. His creations are both playful and emotionally resonant. Another side of Dave’s work is rooted in a deep love of music and pop culture. His multimedia art features musicians and eccentric personalities, bringing a sense of sound and motion to each piece.

Dave’s work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States, including shows in San Francisco, Wilmington, and Florida. With a style that bridges the worlds of character art and contemporary illustration, he continues to explore new mediums and approaches that keep his practice fresh, curious, and connected to the pulse of modern storytelling.
